My wife Lisa and I met in college and became best friends after working together as interns at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. We have two grown daughters, who still make us laugh!
In 1999 God led me and my family to move to Stokesdale and begin a new work, which has become Crossroads.
To give you a little more background, I grew up in Greensboro and came to Christ through the ministry of Westover Church in 1979. I graduated from Page High School in 1980 then majored in economics at Wake Forest University, graduating in 1984. After college I served for one year as an intern at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, working with youth and college students. I then studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1988. Lisa and I got married in 1986.
I served as pastor of a small church in South Georgia from 1988 to 1991 when we moved to serve another church in Madison, NC. It was great to be back home! After serving 11 years in traditional churches, Lisa and I sensed God’s call to begin a contemporary church in the growing community of Stokesdale. We moved here when our kids were 3 and 5. God has grown and blessed the work of Crossroads for more than 20 years now, creating a culture of encouragement, acceptance, and challenge.
